Other people thought that The Simpsons was "...the best show ever". They also said "In the early days of The Simpsons, they derived a large part of their popularity from the everyday...unglamorous...aspect of the Simpson family. Homer is lazy and doesn't like his job, Bart doesn't excel at school...and so on. This aspect of the program contrasts it with popular 80's family sitcoms...which always featured impossibly well-functioning families who got along a little too perfectly and usually learned a neat little lesson at the end of each episode". So they say that The Simpsons family brought something new to the table and is different than other comedy shows. Another someone said was "no one... could've imagined...it could become so cultural... "D'oh" is in the dictionary". In other words The Simpsons is liked a lot by people and is a "Brilliant television series...".
My mother isn't a big fan of The Simpsons but she does find it a little funny. My siblings enjoy watching it and like to watch some episodes on their free time. Most of the viewers also say that The Simpsons are a dysfunctional family and that the characters live in a world of both surreality and reality. Parents think that the scripts of this show are "Ultimately...terribly clever...The Simpsons is the ideal whole-family show...". So overall The Simpsons are rated pretty high and is liked by most people who watch it.
